The Vineyard Bottling Project
A Framework & Introduction
1. What is a Bottling Project?
The Vineyard Bottling Project is a strategic initiative where rare whiskies and fine spirits are carefully selected and released under specialized labels. This approach allows us to control the liquid's presentation, scarcity, and pricing, creating unparalleled value for collectors by bridging the gap between raw liquid assets and ready-to-shelf luxury products.
2. Cask & Project Details
- Distillery & Age Statement
- Cask Type (Oloroso, PX Sherry, Bourbon, etc.)
- Total Outturn (Bottle count)
- ABV (Strength)
- Expected Yield
Total capital requirements include acquisition, bottling, labeling, and insurance. Note that as spirits age, a percentage evaporates—known as the 'Angel's Share'—which we factor into our yield projections to ensure accurate returns.
4. Routes to Market
Wholesale Distribution
Supplying bulk inventories to established high-end vendors and international luxury spirits importers.
Blended Distribution
A balanced mix of private sales and commercial allocation to ensure rapid capital recycling.
Direct Retail
Offering limited single-unit sales directly to our VIP collectors and via the Vineyard online store.
Current Bottling Project
Highland Park 2000 · 30-Year-Old Private Bottling Opportunity
Investment Overview
An opportunity to acquire a 2000 vintage Highland Park cask — a refill bourbon barrel, previously a sherry puncheon — and mature the whisky through to a projected 30 years of age before executing a private bottling programme. This strategy is centred on value creation through bottling rather than simple cask appreciation. By taking the whisky to a 30-year age statement and releasing a limited bottling, the project seeks to capture the premium commanded by mature, age-statement Highland Park in today’s market.

Market Position
Highland Park continues to occupy a distinctive position within the global whisky market, prized for its balance of heather-honey sweetness and gentle island smoke, with mature age-statement releases in increasingly limited supply. Official Highland Park 30-Year-Old releases are currently offered by UK specialist retailers at approximately £1,000 to £1,160 per bottle, depending on release year and bottling strength. For the purpose of this analysis, a retail price of £1,100 per bottle has been adopted, placing the release in line with current UK retail pricing for comparable Highland Park 30-Year-Old bottlings. A private single-cask bottling at natural cask strength would ordinarily be expected to command a premium to standard releases; no such premium has been assumed here. The financial projections that follow are therefore based on pricing levels that sit within the established market range for comparable Highland Park releases, rather than on assumed future price growth.
Wholesale Distribution Model
Assuming the entire release is sold through wholesale and trade distribution channels.
Bottles Released: 150
Average Wholesale Price: £650
Gross Revenue: £97,500
Net Profit: £25,500
Net ROI: 35.4%
This represents the most conservative route to market and prioritises speed of execution and liquidity over margin maximisation.
Blended Distribution Model
Assuming 50% of bottles are sold wholesale and 50% are sold directly to consumers.
Total Revenue: £131,250
Net Profit: £59,250
Return Multiple: 1.82x
Net ROI: 82.3%
This approach balances cash flow and scalability while retaining exposure to higher-margin retail sales — 75 bottles sold wholesale (£48,750) and 75 sold at retail (£82,500).
Direct Retail Distribution Model
Assuming the entire release is sold directly to collectors and private clients at £1,100 per bottle.
Gross Revenue: £165,000
Net Profit: £93,000
Return Multiple: 2.29x
Net ROI: 129.2%
While requiring the greatest level of sales infrastructure and distribution capability, this model captures the full premium associated with a limited 30-Year-Old Highland Park release.
How to Invest
This bottling project is open to participation at fixed entry levels, giving investors a proportional share in the cask, its bottling and its eventual sale — profits and returns are allocated in line with the size of each investor’s stake, on the basis set out on the preceding pages.
Entry Level: £5,000
Entry Level: £10,000
Entry Level: £15,000
For investors wishing to commit at a different level — including taking on the entire bottling project outright — a bespoke arrangement can be structured to suit. Please speak to your Vineyard advisor to discuss a tailored allocation.
Limited allocation.
Bottling projects of this kind are highly selective and released in very limited numbers. Places are allocated on a first-come basis and tend to sell out quickly — investors interested in participating are encouraged to register their interest early.
Comparative Analysis
Exit Strategy Revenue Profit Net ROI
Full Wholesale £97,500 £25,500 35.4%

Full Retail £165,000 £93,000 129.2%
Key Considerations
• Exposure to one of Scotland’s most revered island single malt brands, with a devoted global collector base.
• A 2000 vintage cask combining refill bourbon maturation with prior sherry puncheon influence, offering a distinctive flavour profile.
• A projected 30-year age statement, placing the release within a limited and highly sought-after category.
• Multiple viable exit routes ranging from wholesale distribution through to direct retail sales.
• Pricing assumptions benchmarked to current UK retail for comparable Highland Park 30-Year-Old releases, with no premium assumed for a single-cask bottling.
• Potential to create a highly differentiated private bottling with meaningful collector appeal.
• Bottling projects of this nature are highly selective and limited in number, with allocations historically selling out quickly.
A total investment of £72,000 provides exposure to a rare 2000 vintage Highland Park with a projected yield of approximately 150 bottles at 30 years of age. Even under a wholesale-only strategy, projected profits reach approximately £25,500, generating a net return of around 35% on invested capital. A blended distribution model increases projected profits to around £59,250, while a fully retail-led release has the potential to generate approximately £93,000 of profit. The combination of vintage, age statement, brand strength and bottling economics creates a compelling opportunity to transform a mature Highland Park cask into a limited luxury product with substantial value-creation potential.
